Photograph of a boys senior portrait taken at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville Virginia. The University of Virginia provides a gorgeous backdrop for any photography session, especially senior portrait sessions. Nick is finishing up his senior year at Monticello and is planning on attending college as a International Policy major. He is a runner on the cross country, indoor and outdoor track teams, and is an Eagle Scout. The serpentine walls at the University of Virginia inclose several gardens, and provide interesting texture and backdrop for photography. Not far from the famous Lawn, near the Rotunda, the gardens are enclosed by the serpentine walls that are laid of brick, and have terraced and landscaped formal layouts for the many flowering plants, shrubs and trees within. The fall colors are spectacular as you can see by this photo, with the tree lit up by early morning sun filtering through the leaves of red, gold, yellow, green and brown, and glows like fire. The curve of the wall adds interest and texture to the image without overtaking it. Shot with a Canon 5DMIII and a Canon 70-200mm f/2.8 lens, the compression of the long lens and the wide aperture give a nice bokeh in the background.
Location: University of Virginia.
