Senior Portrait session by Arnel Gonce Photography at UVA in CharlottesvilleSenior Photoshoot of Beautiful Maren at UVA on the Rotunda at sunset in the fall. Lit with a profoto B1X, the warmth of the sunset comes through the everygreens in the distant background. The white marbel of the Rotunda, designed by Thomas Jefferson when the University was built, reflects the surrounding diffused light beautifully. The Rotunda is the most well known piece of architecture for the University of Virignia in Charlottesville, and visitors flock to see it, especially during the fall with the leaves are turning color. This Senior Portrait session for Maren started out on the downtown mall in Charlottesville, and we worked our way over to the University. We photographed at the UVA gardens, where there are beautiful fall flowers and trees blooming, as well as antique capitals from the Original UVA buildings. The lawn runs from the Rotunda to the south end where you will find Rouss, Cocke and Cabell Halls. Originally, only Cabell hall stood at the South end. The University is a popular place to hang out for students and residents alike, and the lawn is the scene of many activities throughout the year, including Halloween, which is one of the biggest. I love this time of year and photographing around the University at the end of the day when the light is so beautifull and reflecting off of so much of the marble and granite architecture. Image shot with a Canon 5DMIII and a Canon 70-200mm f/2.8L lens. A Profoto B1X flash is used at camera left. Settings are ISO 100, at 70mm with an aperture of f/3.5 and a shutter speed of 1/100th of a second. Post processed with Adobe Lightroom and Adobe Photoshop and finished with Alien Skin Exposures.
